I do plan to read the book in Spanish soon. I just have to get the edition my teacher thinks is best that includes notes and explanations. I have highlighted the stanzas I like the best. I can't in all good conscience highlight the first one as that would mean giving up all the handbags and shoes I just bought in Europe.
Happy New Year. Love, Juliette
'Consider how life should be lived.'
There's a monologue in Don Quixote where, prior to being dubbed knight and entering into battle with the Great Enchanter, he paces back and forth, lance in hand… holding
vigil over his armor—reflecting on how historians will remember him; but, catching himself in vanity, refocuses on how life should be lived.
Hearing the pompous echo of his voice, he bows his head, ashamed: 'Oh, maker of empty boasts. On this, of all nights, to give way to vanity. Nay, Don Quixote—take a deep breath of life and consider how it should be lived.' Kneeling, he reflects:
Call nothing your own except thy soul.
Love not what you are, but only what you may become.
Do not pursue pleasure, for you may have the misfortune to overtake it.
Look always forward; in last year's nest there are no birds this year.
Be just to all men. Be courteous to all women.
Live in the vision of that one for whom great deeds are done…

CONSIDER HOW LIFE SHOULD BE LIVED IN 08

I can't in all good conscience highlight the first one as that would mean giving up all the handbags and shoes I just bought in Europe where I have been the last two weeks.

Live every day with enjoyment - we don't know what tomorrow will give us
I had a little bit of sleepless nights this weekend - getting ready to fly to London and Spain to spend time with my family and being ready to leave but my main reason for being Sleepless in Los Angeles is that good friend Letty Jo lost an adult son this week from a sudden heart attack. When ever unexpected news arrives and it affects someone that is near and dear it is much more poignant than someone removed from us who we just hear about on TV or read about in the newspaper. The most amazing thing they were able to spend two weeks together less than a month ago over the Thanksgiving Holiday travelling to Colorado for a family visit and completed so many things that had remained unsaid that she is able to feel as complete as you can feel under such sad circumstances. The point for putting this on my blog is to express what is in the title of this post - don't lets be complacent folks - live with joie de vivre as if each day means something because we truly don't know about tomorrow - that is what makes fighting the windmills a given - go for it - tap into your unconscious mind and figure out what you want that is what is the difference between living and existing.

THE POWER OF MENTORSHIP PUTS THE SECRET IN ITS SHADOW
THE SECRET opened our eyes to the things in the universe that have been around for ever that were understood but not explained to many of us. I was privileged, through an invitation I received from the director and producer of the movie to receive an invitation to the premier of THE POWER OF MENTORSHIP. Not only did Bob Proctor sign my book but I was able to mingle with all the people involved in the film. This idea started as a a seed which grew into something that I guarantee will be running through the world of mouth community at lightning speed that no windmills will be able to interfere with. The great thing about this movie is that the medium and the message are one. If ever there was a film created for people who want to get out of their comfort zone but need a simple recipe and road map of how to do it in incremental steps THE POWER OF MENTORSHIP is the one.
I personally am mentoring people in my business and being mentored myself by some of the best in the business. For anyone getting started and needing direction - I highly recommend THE POWER OF MENTORSHIP and then find a mentor for what ever your field is.
